Same here. He just showed us how to put a bunch of ingredients into a pan, and finish it off by placing the cover on. I could do that already. How long do you cook the roast for? (I’m guessing 3-4 hours on high, or 7-9 hours on low.)

I like this recipe but I’ve never cooked in a crock pot before. Does anyone know how long you would cook the pot roast for? Thanks.

Hello Lori. Usually, it’s better to cook your meat this way: 200F – 9 hours
250F – 6 hours
300F – 3 hours.
Put 1 enveloppe of dry onion soup on top.
Cover the meat with aluminium paper, tightly.
THAT’S ALL. Eventually you may add salt, pepper, carrots, onions, dry red wine etc.
BUT beef/ dry onion soup/ aluminium paper never fails. Good luck.

Can you help me? I think I am about to ruin another roast. It is a 2.2 Lb Prime Chuck Roast, I bought it from Gelsons.(An expensive store) I browned the outside in a skillet first, now I have cooked it low in the oven for 3 hours at 200 degrees. It has water, seasonings, garlic and kitchen bouquet. I can’t even slice at all it is too tough. I put it back in the oven hoping I can cook it enough to fall apart. Should I tried to move it over to a crock pot? Please advise.

Thanks

Lori
